Thengina Narina Kushala Kaigarika Sahakara Sangha ® TNKKSS (Coconut Coir Producers Welfare Cooperative Society) is a registered taluk level co-operative society bearing No. ART/IND/1233/1966-67 Dt. 28-4-1966 and has it's registered office at Thyagatur, Nittur Hobli, Gubbi Taluk, Tumkur District, Karnataka - 572223.This society was established during the year 1966-67 in the interest of farmers, rural youth & women with the main motive of creating rural employment & market for coir products.

INTEGRATED COIR CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT PROJECT :
This coir cluster was founded by the co-operative society,Thengina Narina Kushala Kaigarik Sahakara Sangha (TNKKSS) which has transformed the lives of many farmers by producing lifestyle products from coconut husk through a cluster project jointly funded and supported by:
Scheme Of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI)
&
Under Umbrella Programme on Natural Resource Management (UPNRM)
Waste to wealth
The coconut husk that was thrown out as waste or used as firewood is now being converted into eco-friendly products like coir needle felt, coir curled ropes, coir ply boards, coir pith or coco peat by adopting the latest production techniques and designs. The 45 year old co-operative society TNKKSS has come a long way from producing simple ropes to a large variety of lifestyle products from coconut husk.
The project is aimed at suitably utilizing natural coir husk for value addition and providing livelihood opportunities to resource lacking farmers and self help groups.

TNKKSS won 1st Prize for “Responsible Indian BMOs” organised by foundation for MSME clusters under the European Union Project.
With the aid of our well-established infrastructural unit, we are providing a high quality range of products. This infrastructure is categorized into different sub-units like procurement, manufacturing, quality testing, warehousing & packaging, R&D and sales & marketing. These work processes are managed under the direction of our talented professionals.

Coir Fiber: 8MT per shift
Coir needle felt: 2500 meters per shift
Curled rope: 4 MT per shift
Coco peat: 10MT per shift
